Whether you’ve purchased a brand new stroller that needs a freshen up or maybe it’s been in an incident not covered under warranty – or maybe you’ve purchased a second hand pram that needs some fixing up – it can be a bit tricky to find the right pram spare parts for your exact model.

Identify your Pram or Stroller

This is a completely genuine offer – if you don’t know what exact model you have (or even the brand or country it was purchased ) to even know where to start looking for parts please feel free to send through some pictures of it to mail@parentingcentral.com.au or send them via Facebook or Instagram – whatever gets them in front of me! – because my brain is like an encyclopedia of prams and strollers.

In fact if you can send me a picture of a pram or stroller that I can’t immediately identify – and even take a good guess at the exact manufacture date – I would be thrilled by the challenge.

Who Sells Pram Spare Parts?

It can sometimes be a bit tricky to work out who the suppliers are for each brand sold in Australia, because not all are sold by the brand directly. Also you typically won’t find spare parts in retail stores like Baby Bunting.

I’ve included some of the most popular brands and a link to where to find their spare parts (or contact the supplier if their parts aren’t listed)

If I haven’t listed the brand you are looking for above or you’re not sure what you need for a brand you’ve purchased or are looking at feel free to reach out to me directly if you can’t find what you’re looking for.

What Pram Spare Parts Do You Need To Buy?

The most commonly needed pram spare parts are:

  • Wheels – they naturally wear out overtime or can be removed and misplaced.
  • Seat/Hood fabrics – to freshen up your pram or need replacing if they’ve become mouldy.
  • Storage basket – these can take a beating and sometimes wear our faster than the rest of the pram.
  • Harnesses/Buckles – plastic buckles can be broken or lost if they’ve been removed.

Some mechanical parts that often can be replaced (depending on the model these may need an Authorised repairer:

  • Brake
  • Fold
  • Adjustable Handlebar
  • Seat frame (recline, leg support or seat release mechanisms)

Although depending on the model and how these mechanical parts have been built into the frame it may not be possible to just replace the individual component. Typically luxury brands opt for closed systems and encased components – for a cleaner design. Which means you may not be able to repair or replace the broken part and the only option would be to purchase a complete replacement frame – which often is a large percent of the total cost of just buying a new pram.

This is something you may want to take into account when you’re first buying a pram, especially if you’re buying a second hand pram.

Who Can Repair Prams in Australia?

Often the best thing to do, regardless of whether your stroller is in warranty or not, is to contact the supplier (refer to the list above or ask the retailer you purchased from to direct you) as they can also assist with any troubleshooting to identify the issue and direct you to their repairer network if applicable.

There are a number of trusted pram repairers around Australia who will repair a number of different brands (again, check with the supplier if they are an authorised repairer and so have access to original parts)
